1. What this platform is
Mycelity is a multi-tenant platform for planning, running, and reporting on scientific workshops and conferences -- application intake, review, scheduling, notifications, sponsorship, certification, and manuscript/authorship tracking -- alongside a set of adjacent marketplaces (equipment/reagent sharing, surplus-equipment exchange, bulk-procurement consortia, paid peer review, and a job board).
2. Accounts
An account is optional for submitting an application as a guest, but required for most other activity (organizing a workshop, reviewing applications, listing an item, etc.). You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
3. Payments
This platform integrates with third-party payment processors (Stripe, Paystack, Flutterwave, OPay, M-Pesa) for donations, sponsorship pledges, event registration fees, marketplace transactions, and subscription billing. Payments are processed by those third parties under their own terms; this platform records the resulting transactions but does not itself hold your card or bank details.
4. Marketplace and peer-to-peer activity
Several features (LabSharing, LabSurplus, LabConsortia, Review2GetPaid, Review2Sequence, Job Board) connect users directly with each other. This platform facilitates those connections but is not a party to the underlying arrangement between users unless stated otherwise for a specific feature.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use this platform to submit false information, misuse another user's data, circumvent access controls, or use any AI-assisted feature (event discovery, survey analysis, generated content) in a way that violates the rights of others.
6. Changes and termination
These terms, and access to the platform, may change over time. Real notice/versioning language belongs here once this document is legally reviewed.
